- Foreign nationals visiting Mongolia for more than 30 days (temporary visitors), or planning to reside for private and official purposes, should be registered at the Immigration of Mongolia within 7 business days after arrival and to be deregistered prior the departure.
- Foreign nationals visiting Mongolia far less than 30 days “entry” and “transit” visas do not need registration.
- Residents with level “D”, “A” visas should be registered at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia within 7 business days after arrival.
- Residents for official and private purposes applying for the residency permit or resettling to other aimags (provinces) or towns for more than 30 days should be registered resident address by the Soum’s (administrative unit) local Administration or khoroo (administrative unit) Governor within 14 business days.
- Foreign nationals visiting Mongolia to reside for official and private purposes (labor, investment, family reunification purposes) should submit their application for residence permit to the Immigration within 21 days after their arrival.
- Foreign nationals, who wish to extend their visa term should submit their application to the Immigration at least 4 days before the expiration of a valid visa. Visas can be extended once only for 30 days maximum.
- Foreign nationals visiting Mongolia to reside for official and private purposes should acquire beforehand a visa compatible for original purpose of entry.
