Enquiry for crossing Mongolian border is a protected by the Mongolian Law on Confidentiality on Individual Information document that proves an individual’s crossing border the country border provided by Inspection Unit at citizens’, entities’ and authorized organizations’ request
To whom are enquiries given?
– Legally authorized government organizations and officials
– To individuals who passed the border or to closest family members such as parents, siblings, spouses and children

Information needed for getting enquiry:
– For Mongolian citizens: True, accurate and clear names and registration numbers
– For foreign citizens: copies of their documents that show their citizenship, names, birthdates and identification numbers
– For transportation vehicles: State registration numbers and makes of the vehicles
– To include clear information about when individuals & vehicles passed the border through which border point
Individual:
- Application form:
To mention reason of getting the enquiry, purpose to use it and to give receivers’ address and phone numbers clearly
- Copies of electronic identification card and other documents that include first, middle and last names and registration numbers
- If an individual can’t receive the enquiry himself or herself another individual who wants to get the enquiry on behalf of him or her should submit a document that proves that s/he is related to the individual who is getting the enquiry For example: If someone wants to get his spouse’s enquiry s/he should give copies of their marriage certificate and if an individual wants to get his or her parents’ enquiries s/he needs to submit copies of documents such as his/her birth certificates
Enquiries of children will be given basing on his or her parents’ documents.
Enquiry process period:
- At government organizations’ and entities’ official requests:
– 1-10 individuals’ enquiries within 1-3 working days
– 10-50 individuals’ enquiries within 5-10 working days
– 50 or more individuals’ enquiries within 10-15 working days
- Individuals’ petitions’ replies will be given within 1-5 working days and when needed replies can be given within time period set by Law about Responding to Individuals’ Petitions and Complaints to Government Organizations and Officials
Remarks:
– Enquiries not allowed to be given according to relevant laws and regulations aren’t given to entities and organizations
– If an individual doesn’t have documents that can prove that she/he is legally related to the official enquiry receiver the enquiry will not be given
– Individuals’ & vehicles’ information that passed through Buynt-Uhaa, Zamiin-Uud, Sukhbaatar border points in 2001-2006 will be issued within 5-10 days. Enquiries of previous years before that can’t be given because those years’ information aren’t in our organizations’ database.
– Our organization isn’t responsible for enquiries’ not being issued or wrong enquiries’ being issued because of wrong or unreadable words, letters and symbols on official letters and petitions sent by government and private organizations, entities and individuals .
– We are unable to give enquiries when information on official letters and petitions are wrong, incomplete and unclear
